Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/KR4/Husqvarna Pro Rider Tayla Jones Wins FGSE Round 1

February 12, 2017 - Gaston, SC: The Rocky Mountain ATV*MC / KR4 / Husqvarna Team was at Round 1 of the Kenda Full Gas Sprint Enduro Series  this Sunday at the Motovated Sports Complex in Gaston, South Carolina. Theteam was present in full force with 3 of their Pros and a strong contingent of their Amateur team.

Jesper Borjesson Battles in the Pro Division at FGSE One Round

Swedish offroad Ace Jesper Börjesson put in an impressive US racing debut for the KR4 Arrive-N-Ride team, finishing 6th overall in the Pro class, a good indication he is adjusting well to the new environment.

"The Kenda Full Gas Sprint Enduro was my first race here in the USA for the 2017 season." said Börjesson.  “I was racing a Husqvarna FC 250 against the open class bikes— so overall I'm very happy to come away with 6th place in the Pro class. The bike ran great. Next weekend the crew will make a few small suspension changes, and that should set us up nicely for a strong finish."

Tayla Jones Wins The Full Gas Sprint Enduro Opener

In the Women’s Pro class all eyes were on Australian KR4 Arrive-N-Ride rider Tayla Jones, as she was coming off a commanding lead from the previous weekend. Tayla locked in a tight battle with fellow Australian Mackenzie Tricker for the entire weekend. While trailing Tricker by a few seconds on Saturday, Jones was able to step up her game on Sunday, ultimately finishing with an 8 second lead and taking her first Kenda Full Gas Sprint Enduro win.

KR4 Arrive-N-Ride rider Hunter Neuwirth competed in the LOI E1 class in an attempt to earn a spot on the 2017 ISDE France team.  Neuwirth struggled with suspension issues Saturday, working hard to put his Husqvarna TE150 towards the front of the pack. He finished day one in 6th place. The team was quick to implement significant suspension changes and Neuwirth was able to find his rhythm, finishing day two in 5th place in the LOI class.

In the competitive Lites A class, Colin Keegan had a solid race to finish in 11th place just ahead of new KR4 Grassroots rider, Hank Hays for 12th place and Conner Keegan finished in 23rd place.  Ambrocio Gutierrez finished the day in 9th in the 40+A class.

Chase Sweda battled lappers in the highly competitive Open B class and ended up finishing 5th in the class.

KR4 team rider Johnny Trump had an impressive ride for a 3rd place Podium finish in the Lites C class.

All the way from Texas was Maximo Gutierrez with his best finish of the year taking 4th in the Juniors (12-17) class.

Fellow Texan and brother to Maximo was Magno Gutierrez who raced the 85cc (12-15) for the first time and placed 6th in the youth division.  "I had lots of fun and I'm looking forward to racing the next FGSE with my father and brother"- Magno

Next up for team KR4 Arrive-N Ride: The Kenda Full Gas Sprint Enduro Round 2 in Georgia on February 25th.

TAYLA JONES DOMINATES WOMEN'S ELITE CLASS FINISHING 11 MINUTES AHEAD OF 2ND

Sumter, SC: February 5, 2016 – Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/ KR4/ Husqvarna team kicked off the 2017 race season with the first round of the Kenda AMA National Enduro Series presented by Moose Racing in Sumter, South Carolina.

Over 800 riders – 120 rows – signed up for the season opener. Conditions were excellent, with light rain in the morning to keep the dust down.

The KR4 squad was represented in the pro class by Grant Baylor and by Hunter Neuwirth, a new addition to the team from New England. Grant, who is no stranger to the South Carolina terrain, had a solid day, despite suspension problems which prohibited the 20 year old from claiming a top spot and he would eventually settle for 8th place on his Husqvarna FX 450.

Neuwirth snapped the clutch cable off his Husqvarna TE150 on the first test forcing him to retire early for the day.

TAYLA JONES DOMINATES WOMEN’S ELITE WITH AN 11 MINUTE LEAD

In The Women’s Elite class, KR4 was represented by Australian Tayla Jones. Tayla, a former ISDE champion, dominated the field, by winning the women’s elite class with a lead of over 11 minutes.

“We have enduros in Australia, but they are no way as tight as what this race was,”said Jones. "It kind of took me by surprise, but after a few tests I was starting to get the hang of it. I really enjoyed the race and I’m looking forward to the full season.”

In the stacked 250A class of over 40 riders, Colin Keegan had a solid race and finished 8th over his brother, Conner Keegan, who suffered a shoulder injury and ended up 21st. New Grassroots team rider Josh Ferrell placed 27th in the class.

In the 40+A division, Derek Pacheco started the 2017 season up with a great first time NEPG finish and finished 8th while Ambrocio Gutierrez finished 30th in the class.

In the 200A division, Josh Hensley spent the last week training and riding and ended up with a podium finish and finished 3rd.

Chase Sweda had a hard crash towards the end of the race and finished 13th in the 250B class.

In his first NEPG event, Maximo Gutierrez finished 8th in the 200B class.

Team KR4 Arrive And Ride will be active again next weekend at the first round of the Kenda Full Gas Sprint Enduro series at the Moto-Vated Sports Complex in Gaston, South Carolina.
