Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/KR4/Husqvarna Team Report: Hidden Valley Golf Full Gas Sprint Enduro
GLEN DANIEL, W.Va. (October 3, 2017) – Round seven of the Kenda Full Gas Sprint Enduro (FGSE) series, presented by PRI Powersports Insurance, provided a unique opportunity to the Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/KR4/Husqvarna team members who competed this past weekend, September 30 and October 1.
What once seemed like a dream, came to reality this past weekend where competitors raced their way through twelve total tests at the Hidden Valley Golf Course in Glen Daniel, West Virginia. Clubhouse facilities, fairways, sand traps and greens were all a part of the weekend creating the ultimate race track, and the 65 degree days produced perfect race conditions.
Tayla Jones continued her successful season and took the Women’s Pro class win by over three-minutes, marking her sixth win of the season. Jones’ victory was enough to put her at the top of the points standings permanently and clinch her third title of the year, in addition to the National Enduro and GNCC championships she wrapped up earlier this month.
“Other than a couple of crashes, I had a pretty good weekend,” reported Jones. “Riding on the golf course was amazing and the enduro test had some incredible grip, you could do just about anything you wanted. I am over the moon to say I’ve wrapped up my third national title. I had a great time and I’m pumped with a 16th place overall finish.”
Jesper Börjesson also had a successful weekend, placing just inside the top 10 in the ultra-competitive pro class. Saturday’s Test Five was Börjesson’s best test of the day where he finished fourth. The Swedish rider leaves West Virginia ranked sixth in the points championship.
Grassroots Team Rider Michael McLean utilized the Arrive-n-Ride program due to his conflicting work schedule and rented a 2017 FX350 and took his third clean-sweep Open B win of the season, along with placing 27th overall.
KR4 Performance Team Results:
- Jesper Borjesson –Pro – 9th
- Tayla Jones – Women’s Pro – 1st
- Michael McLean – Open B – 1st
